James Wilton quite simply lives and breathes rowing. As a coach, the club appears to be his life! Since his arrival at the University of Worcester Rowing Club in 2004, at which time the club owned 2 boats and had 5 active members, he has been a driving force in its impressive development.

Under his watchful eye, the Rowing club has gone on to represent around 1% of the university rowing population. The club can now count medals at both BUCS head and Regatta, has sent people to under 23′s GB trials and made competitive appearances at all HORR and Henley events.

This previous year, the club were less than 2 seconds of qualification at the royal. To note, James Wilton has coached for Birmingham University, Worcester Rowing Club and coached crews to lightweight National Championships.

As well as his performances as a rowing coach, he also used his influence outside of the sport to orchestrate a World Record attempt, going above and beyond to raise £2000 for the local Snoezelan Disability centre. Anyone who knows James knows that he will devote everything in terms of time, energy and passion to his crews. A vote for James would give him some well earned and deserved recognition.
